The handcrafted wines at Rosa d' Oro Vineyards are rooted in a family-oriented winemaking philosophy that embraces the Italian heritage at the root of our founding family. Winemaker, Nick Buttitta, and his family team are a testimony to dedication and hard work. Harkening back to extended families and communal atmosphere, the wines are nurtured to their highest quality through superb craftsmanship and Italian good nature.

The Buttitta family has been growing premium wine grapes in California since 1953. Today, the focus is on making classic Italian varietals. Nick and his family moved from Sonoma County vineyards to the Kelseyville property in 1991. Here, the rugged climate and volcanic soils combine with careful winemaking techniques to produce powerful wines of prestigious character.

The family team works together on all aspects of the winemaking endeavor- selecting the grape varieties to be grown, planting the vines, tending the vineyards, making the wine, bottling and hand-labeling each bottle, and staffing the tasting room.

In keeping with Italian tradition, over 200 premium olive trees have been palnted in and around the vineyards. These trees yield a rich olive oil, bursting with flavor.
